About Me

Bio

Kate (she/her/hers) is a freelance DC based casting director, creator, and arts administrator.

She was bit by the theatre bug at 5 years old when her grandparents took her to see her first show, Cinderella. As they say, the rest is history. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) where she studied acting. After graduating in 3 1/2 years, Kate received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in theatre performance. While she had always been interested in who was cast in which roles and why, college is where Kate really unearthed her love of casting (and learn it was a job!).

In addition to casting, Kate has worn many theatrical hats, including teaching artist, producer and arts administrator. She has gotten to work at La Jolla Playhouse, Studio Theatre, Arts on the Horizon, Solas Nua, Prologue Theatre, InterAct Story Theatre, The Theatre Lab and Virginia Repertory Theatre, with a focus on those subjects. She is now a full time freelance casting director and arts administrator.

In her free time Kate can be found cuddling her cat, reading, and finding the best local coffee shops.

Feel free to reach out to her with any job opportunities, collaborations or ideas!
